Lakshana Chettinad is an Indian restaurant. Frankly speaking, Indian food is not my preference, but learning is experiencing, right? This restaurant actually is my very first Indian restaurant I have gone for my entire life. And, it was a very memorable experience. The restaurant is located at 5623A Côte-des-Neiges, which is close to Côte-des-Neiges metro.

The menu is well-organized, but with little bit different from original Indian menu since they do serve beef to people living here in Canada as a way of adapting to the environment. We did have a difficult time in choosing dishes while we have no knowledge or experience of Indian dishes, before we asked for the waitress’s help.

My dishes for that evening are the chicken curry with rice.

To be frank, Indian food is quite impressive with the use of various spices. I can taste the coconut flavor in the chicken curry, which I think the chef made the dish is from Southern India. In contrast, the dish is quite spicy for me even though I asked for less spicy. How funny is that. The only disadvantage I found is the dishes are quite oily with the strong smell of garlic and onion.
